Overlap

Terms, briefly

Overlap is a small service run by a small team. These terms are short because the deal is simple.

What Overlap is

An AI assistant you can talk to, plus a matchmaker: when someone else here is working through the same thing, Overlap offers to introduce you — and does so only if you both say yes. In this early phase a human curator proposes the introductions. How your data is handled is on the privacy page, which is part of these terms.

Your account

You must be 18 or older to use Overlap. Keep your credentials to yourself, and you are responsible for what happens under your account. You can download your data or delete your account at any time from your profile page.

Not for hiring decisions

Overlap introduces people to each other for their own benefit. It is not a recruitment, screening or candidate-sourcing tool, and you must not use anything it produces to make or inform a decision about another person — employment, promotion, credit, housing, insurance, education, legal or medical. Nobody here is a candidate, and Overlap does not rank people for anyone else’s decision.

Don’t bring other people’s data

Tell Overlap about your own situation. Do not upload contact lists, and do not send us personal details about someone who has not signed up themselves. Overlap only ever matches people who joined and opted in, so information about anyone else has nothing to connect to and will not be kept.

Acceptable use

Do not use Overlap to harass, impersonate, spam or harm people you are introduced to. Do not probe or disrupt the service. Do not submit content that is illegal to share. We can suspend accounts that do.

Connected assistants

If you connect Overlap to another assistant, that connection records the topics you approve to your Overlap account, as described on the consent screen. Nothing is recorded without your explicit yes. The other assistant is a separate service under its own terms, and what it does with your conversation is governed by your agreement with them, not this one.

The honest caveats

Overlap is provided as-is, without warranties. Introductions are offers, not promises. The assistant can be wrong, so check anything that matters. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you have paid us.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms, and we will announce material changes in the app. Questions: [email protected].
